Our company is different to many others because we do all the little (but important) things to make it as easy as possible for our clients. We go that extra mile and we carry many of the little bits and pieces the opposition can’t be bothered with. Our stock is always around $400,000 retail so that the customer rarely has to wait for that important small item needed for tonight’s gig.

Cheapa Music was founded when Peter Harkins realised that Tamworth didn’t have a good used musical instrument store so Peter filled that need by consigning other people’s goods and gradually developing from a one man store in 1979 to a thriving operation with four permanent staff, several casuals and selling and servicing most major brands. Other stores have come and gone over the years and Peter says our formula is simple – “Never lie to customers if a problem occurs and treat them as you would like to be treated”.

Our customers are mostly beginners and families but we have gained the respect of both professional and amateur musicians alike.

Our customers have included and still do include people like Troy Cassar-Daley, Tommy Emmanuel, Lee Kernaghan, Jon English, Normie Rowe and Jerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers). We treat all equally no matter what status.
